WELLcommunity Spotlight:

Ongoing Oppportunities

Sitters Without Borders, inc. (“SWOB”) provides free evening babysitting sessions to low-income parents enrolled in an evening college or certificate program. Our target demographic is low-income single parents. Our operations rely on experienced, trained, volunteer babysitters who live in the Greater Boston area. A family is provided with free 4-hour babysitting session per week. Additional sessions per week are available for a low flat fee of $20 for 4 hours. Families are matched with their sitters based on availability, geographic location, experience, and preferences.

Babysitting with SWOB is an experience like no other. You will develop a meaningful relationship with both, the mother and the child, and witness how your act of kindness can make a world of difference in their lives.

Whether you want to help a student parent succeed in college by watching their child while they attend classes, or just want to get involved in community service, SWOB welcomes your application!

Help a mother break out of the poverty cycle and become economically independent by watching her child for a few hours a week!

To apply for a volunteer babysitter position, you must meet the following:

  • 18 years or older

  • Hold a high school diploma

  • Experience as a babysitter
